Activities

Stake Youth Activities take place about once a month. The stake youth leadership plans these events based on direction from the youth. These activities are sponsored with stake funds. All events & details will be posted on the Calendar as they are finalized.

Ward Youth Activities should take place on weeks that do not have a Stake Youth Activity and are realized with ward youth budgets.

All activities should give youth a chance to strengthen testimonies, foster personal growth, and have fun in a wholesome environment. They should create a feeling of unity and a sense of belonging and should be varied and well balanced. They should appeal to the interests and needs of the youth. Socializing and fun are important but the emphasis on meaningful service is something that will help the youth gain leadership skills and a sense of how they can make an impact on their community and the world around them. Plan with a purpose by using the Ask, Counsel and Plan model. Ask questions to find out needs and interests. Counsel with the youth about how to meet needs and interests and plan activities based on those discussions. Refer to the youth activities website for helpful tips and ideas.

Class presidencies should participate as much as possible in planning and carrying out activities. See General Handbook:Serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, section 11.2.1.3.
